主讲人简介: Prof. Gang Li is Chair Professor of Energy Conversion Technology, Sir Sze-Yuen Chung Endowed Professor in Renewable Energy in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He served as Associate Director of Research Institute for Smart Energy (RISE) in HK PolyU, and Director (HK) of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Joint Laboratory for Photonic-Thermal-Electrical Energy Materials and Devices. His research interests are organic semiconductors, organo-metal halide hybrid perovskite semiconductors and related thin-film optoelectronic devices– solar cells, photodetectors and LEDs. He has published ~340 papers in peer review journals including Nature Materials, Nature Photonics, Nature Energy, Science, Nature Reviews Materials, with one edited book, several book chapters and patents. His research works have been cited over 95,000 times (Google Scholar, 22 papers with over 1000 citations). He has been recognized as a Highly Cited Researcher from 2014 to 2025 by Thomson Reuter / Clarivate Analytics, with a H-Index of 110. He is Fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry (UK), Optica (OSA), The International Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE), Electromagnetic Academy, and Hong Kong RGC Senior Research Fellow.

Solution-processed organic semiconductors are promising in joint-force with other semiconductors to push forward the printable optoelectronics field. Perovskite solar cell (PSC) is another promising new generation photovoltaic technologies, with the significant efficiency progress from 3.8% in 2009 to today’s 28% PSC. The stability is the biggest challenge in PSC and organic semiconductor could provide valuable assistance. I will report efforts in Hong Kong adopting organics semiconductor concepts to improve the PSC efficiency, stability, and in particular removing the reverse-bias resilience challenge in perovskite solar cell via tandem solar cell structure with OSC. Recent research results on stretchable organic solar cell, organic light emitting devices (OLEDs), and practice in stable perovskite LEDs will also be presented.
